The 7stanes
The 7stanes are seven mountain biking
centres spanning the south of Scotland mountain bike trails offer everyone, no
matter how experienced, some of the worlds best mountain biking.
24 McLellan Gardens is ideally situated to Dalbeattie and
provides state of the art facilities for bikers. Locally produced food and ales
served up by our pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms, not to mention our
famous Scottish hospitality, will make your visit to the 7stanes complete and
an adventure of a lifetime
7stanes - Dalbeattie
At the
7stanes trail at Dalbeattie the trailbuilding team have had to
come up with some unique solutions to maintain an all-weather trail.
Initially this meant using a lot of the existing forest road at the
expense of long sections of singletrack. But phase II building sees
another 5kms of singletrack added to the trail. In addition to this
some innovative boardwalk and rocky features will really put Dalbeattie
back on the map as a top 7stanes venue. It is a good example of
innovative singletrack trailbuilding skills at work.
The trail centre at
Dalbeattie itself sits on the beautiful Solway coast and a having completed the
trail, it is well worth a drive to Kippford for some good food and good views. On site there are few facilities but the nearby
town of Dalbeattie
provides all necessary services including the nearest bike shop and hire centre. There is a bike wash at the
well-hidden trailhead to wash away the remnants of your ride.
