Local Attractions
There
are many places of interest and local attractions to keep you occupied
while on holiday in the region. Here are a selection which we would
recommend when planning a day out.- Cream o' Galloway is a big favourite with several outdoor and indoor play areas and the most wonderful home made ice cream.
- Mabie Farm Park
is another big hit with the youngsters as it offers a whole host of
activities - boating, quad biking, sledging, go karts and animal
paddock in fact, so many activities in a safe all weather environment
to amuse and tire.

- Galloway Gardens and Garden Festival. Blessed by a mild oceanic climate - due to the warming influence of the Gulf Stream - Galloway possesses some of the loveliest visitor-attraction gardens and specialist nurseries in Scotland: a mecca for garden lovers everywhere.
- The Gem Rock Museum at Creetown – the wonderful world of gems, crystals and minerals. Don’t forget to visit the Crystal Cave.
- The David Coulthard Museum,
Twynholm – we are proud of the success of our local Formula 1 Racing
Driver. Go and visit Twynholm where David was born and brought up and
see this tribute to all the accolades he has won.
- Lochside Theatre. In the market town of Castle Douglas this gem is a fully equipped theatre which brings a whole range of shows to the area all year round.
- Wigtown Book Town and Festival. Scotland’s national book town.
